サンクトガーレンは、1993年サンフランシスコでブルーパブ『カフェ　パシフィカ』をオープンし、ビールの醸造と販売を始めました。
この事がきっかけとなり、翌年の1994年には、日本国内で地ビール製造が解禁となり国内製造が許されました。この事は、「元祖地ビール屋」の異名を取るサンクトガーレンのエピソードとして語られています。
現在は、神奈川県厚木市にあるブルワリーで、「より多くの人にビールを飲んで欲しい」と言う気持ちで、アメリカンスタイルのレギュラービールをはじめ、フルーツやバニラ、黒糖を使用したデザートビール等、様々なスタイルのビールを醸造しています。
「ビールが苦手だった人、興味のなかった人が、このビールをきっかけにビールを楽しむようになっていく」そんなビール作りを目指しています。

Sankt Gallen (Kanagawa)

Making the best beer no matter what the conditions are
In 1993 in San Francisco, Sankt Gallen opened a brew pub called Café Pacifica and started brewing and selling beer.
This led to the lifting of the ban on microbrewing in Japan in 1994, as is often recounted when people talk about Sankt Gallen, aka “the first microbrewery.”
Sankt Gallen is now a brewery located in Atsugi, Kanagawa. With a mission to have as many people enjoy beer as possible, we brew a wide variety of beers including regular American style beer and dessert beers made with fruit, vanilla, and brown sugar.
We strive to make beer that will inspire people who didn’t like beer or were not interested in beer to start enjoying beer.
